Delete your Sawdust account

Sawdust · Creative Constructs LLC

You can ask us to delete your Sawdust account and the content in it at any time. You do not need to reinstall the app or sign in to make the request.

How to request deletion. Emailsupport@joinsawdust.comfrom the address on your account, with the subject Delete my Sawdust account. If you cannot email from that address, tell us your handle and we will verify another way.

We action requests within 30 days and reply to confirm when it is done. There are no subscriptions or payments to cancel first.

What is deleted

  • Your account, sign-in credentials, email address, display name and handle.
  • Every project you own, including its updates, plan steps, items and prices.
  • Photos you uploaded and the redesigned images generated from them.
  • Your comments, likes, follows and notification preferences.
  • Your push notification tokens, so the app can no longer reach your devices.

What is kept, and why

Two things outlive the account, and neither identifies you afterwards:

Product correctionsWhen someone changes an item the system suggested, we keep an anonymous record of the change so the suggestions improve. The link to your account is removed, leaving no way to attribute it to you.
Moderation recordsIf content of yours was reported or removed, we keep the decision so it is not re-litigated. These records do not contain your email address.

Content other people created is not deleted. A comment someone else wrote belongs to them; where a project of yours is removed, their comments on it go with it.

Deleting some things without closing the account

You can delete an individual project, update, item or comment in the app without closing your account. Making a project private removes it from public view immediately and keeps the record.

Backups

Deleted content can persist in encrypted database backups for up to 7 days, after which those backups expire. It is not reachable in the app during that window and is not restored except in a disaster recovery.
